2026 Cycling ProgramThree Rivers Adaptive Sports (TRAS) is excited to continue our Cycling Program into 2026. Novice and experienced cyclists are welcome to join in on one or all the rides.
TRAS has an assortment of adaptive cycles including hand cycles and recumbent (foot pedaled) trikes available to accommodate a variety of riders. Each cyclist will ride along with volunteer support and will be able to ride at their own pace. TRAS will be partnering with the Pittsburgh Steelwheelers for a ride on the “Jail Trail” along Second Avenue in Pittsburgh on June 20th. RSVP for this event is required by emailing [email protected] by June 6, 2026. Again this year, TRAS will join BikePGH for the fun of OpenStreetsPGH. Dates and locations TBA. Plan to join TRAS as we explore the streets of Pittsburgh as part of OpenStreetsPGH. Other TRAS Cycling Program events listed on the TRAS Cycling schedule, will begin at either the Southside Riverfront Park on South 18 th Street off East Carson Street on Pittsburgh’s Southside or at Millvale Riverfront Park in Millvale, PA. The rides will run on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail along the Mon or Allegheny Rivers. Riding distances will depend on the interest and ability level of each cyclist. Riders can plan to take a leisurely ride along the trail or explore other parts of the city if you are looking for more of a challenge. Advanced reservations are required so that we can be sure we have the right equipment and support volunteers for each rider. Reservations must be made 1 week prior to the scheduled ride. All TRAS Cycling events start at 9AM. However, some start times may be staggered because of shared cycles and volunteer availability. Reservations will be scheduled in the order they are received. All cyclists and volunteers will need to complete the Rider Information form and Liability Waiver on the TRAS website at www.traspa.org . Potential riders can contact Mark Kulzer at [email protected] or 412-848-8896 with questions and to discuss cycling equipment options. All riders are REQUIRED to wear a helmet. If you have your own helmet, bring it along. Otherwise, TRAS will provide a helmet if you need one. Here is the PARTICIPANT registration procedure.
Participants only need to complete ONE of each form for the year.
Reserve a spot 1 week in advance by contacting Mark Kulzer: [email protected] or 412-848-8896 Here is the VOLUNTEER registration procedure.
