The Yough River from Dawson to Layton, PA 9am -- August 12, 2023

TRAS PADDLING SERIES
Join Three Rivers Adaptive Sports (TRAS) for an exciting series of paddling, fun and friendship on the beautiful North Park Lake, the Allegheny River in Millvale and along the scenic Youghiogheny River! Boater can register to join the fun for one or all of the adventures in the 2023 TRAS Paddling Series.

Paddlers will have a chance to try TRAS state of the art adaptive kayak and canoe seating systems, as well as paddle adaptations, and kayaks equipped with outriggers for maximal stability. There will also be tandem kayaks and canoes available. TRAS’ adaptive kayak and canoe gear can allow anyone to enjoy paddling sports. The same assortment of specialized adaptive equipment and boats will be available at North Park Lake, the Allegheny and Yough Rivers.

At North Park Lake and on the Allegheny River, TRAS boaters will have an opportunity to enjoy some paddling around and will have a chance to tryout a variety of gear to see what works best for them.

For the Yough River excursion, TRAS paddlers will meet at Hazelbaker’s Recreational Services (653 Layton Rd. Perryopolis, PA 15473) at 9:00 am.  Kayakers and canoeist will depart at 10am via van shuttle to the launch in Dawson, PA. Once on the river, TRAS paddlers on a leisurely 8 miles float on gently flowing water and a couple of Class I rapids. Along the way TRAS boaters can enjoy a refreshing dip in the river, fishing (PA Fishing License required), or just kick back and soak in the sun. The group will stop along the way to enjoy a picnic lunch on the river’s edge.  TRAS adventurers will finish out the float bask at the Hazelbaker’s facility to end the day on the river.
The $10 registration fee for TRAS members and $15 for non-members per person includes boat rental and adaptive equipment (plus shuttle and lunch for the Yough trip).
